Enable MODX Cloud DNS at your Registrar

Once your DNS records are set up in MODX Cloud, you will need to change the name servers at your registrar to point to MODX Cloud's name servers in order for them to be active.

The new name server addresses will be found on the My Name Servers box found on the Manage Domains page in MODX Cloud.

Changing Your Name Servers

Changing name servers will likely remove any existing DNS records hosted at your current registrar. Be sure you have a copy of all records or have duplicated them all in MODX Cloud DNS.

The following are high-level instructions for updating your name servers at your registrar. For detailed or specific instructions, you will want to consult with your registrar.

  1. Log in at your Registrar
  2. Go to DNS Management
  3. Under Nameservers, click Change
  4. Enter / paste the new Name Server entries and click Save
  5. All done! (it can take up to 24 hours for the change to take effect)
