You can manage the DNS for any domains assigned to sites in your MODX Cloud account.
About MODX Cloud DNS
- Before you create DNS records the domain(s) must be assigned to an existing Cloud.
- Currently supported record types include A, AAAA, CAA, CNAME, MX, NS, SRV, and TXT. Let us know if you need other record types urgently.
- CNAME flattening for the apex record is supported, functioning like an A record.
Add a Domain to MODX Cloud DNS
- Log in to the MODX Cloud Dashboard
- From the top navigation, click DNS to take you to the Domains area.
- At the right-hand side of the page, click the Add Domain button
- In the field that appears at the left, enter a fully qualified domain name, such as
pizzaexample.org
orborschtandbeef.code
- Once it's been successfully added you can Manage DNS for your domain.
Domain records will not be in effect until you enable MODX Cloud DNS at your registrar.
Remove a Domain from MODX Cloud DNS
Deleting the domain will completely remove the domain record. If it is currently active and not managed elsewhere, it will cause the domain to become unavailable.
- Log in to the MODX Cloud Dashboard
- From the top navigation, click DNS to take you to the Domains area
- Locate—or use the Filter Domains field to find—the domain you'd like to remove from MODX Cloud
- At the right side of the row in which the domain is listed, under Actions, click the "X"
- A confirmation box will appear in the center of the screen for you to confirm or cancel the action
