What is changing?
The ability to import Snapshots generated by using the Vapor Extra (or other tools) into MODX Cloud is being discontinued.
Why is MODX making this change?
Several years ago, the MODX Cloud team started offering to import customers’ first website into MODX Cloud for free when they signed up for MODX Cloud. Furthermore, we charge only a nominal fee for importing additional sites.
Use of the Snapshot Import feature in MODX Cloud declined significantly over the years. Most customers either build or develop directly in MODX Cloud or use the SSH/Rsync method to import sites from local development environments and other servers.
Removing unused features will enable a simpler experience in the MODX Cloud dashboard.
What do I need to do?
For the few customers who relied on using the Import Snapshot feature in MODX Cloud, the recommended approach is to use the SSH/Rsync import method, STFP or request assistance from the MODX Cloud Support team.
