Starting May 6, 2024, MODX Cloud will introduce usage-based billing for Vault Storage (Backups and Snapshots).
This announcement includes the following topics:
What is changing?
MODX Cloud customers will be billed for the Vault Storage they are using, initially via a periodic manual review.
All MODX Cloud plans have a set allotment of Vault Storage. Starting May 6, 2024, customers using more than their plan’s Vault space will be assigned a Vault Storage add-on to accommodate their account’s usage. Vault Storage upgrades start at $10/month for an additional 25 GB, found on your Account → Add-ons tab in the MODX Cloud Dashboard.
Why is MODX making this change?
In the past, we’ve used an honor system or manually reviewed accounts for over-plan usage. There are real costs associated with high-quality storage. At MODX Cloud, your important Backups and Snapshots are stored in resilient, multi-zone Cloud Object Storage to protect the integrity and security of your data. This change will ensure that customers with high usage have the storage they need while keeping pricing fair and stable for all customers.
What do I need to do?
There is nothing related to this change that you need to do. However, if you wish to minimize costs, ensure you're on a plan that fits your needs, archive or delete inactive instances, and delete old or outdated Backups or Snapshots you no longer need.
